IKMIB rewards Sapro with “Stars of Export Award”

Sapro received the grand prize under the “Wet Cleansing Wipes” category in the “2022 IKMIB Stars of Export Awards”. 

Sapro, one of the top 4 manufacturers of Europe in private label wet wipe production, was granted the export champion award for the 7th time in Stars of Export Award Ceremony, organized by Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters’ Association (IKMIB) to honor and incentivize its members in the chemical industry. 

Sapro A.Ş., founded in 1997 in Turkey to produce wet wipes, sustains its operations with the same devotion since the date of its foundation.

Grand prize in Wet Cleansing Wipes Exportation Category

Sapro, Turkey’s top wet wipe producer, leads exportation by a wide margin. Sapro, exporting its products to 65 countries and ranked among the top 4 manufacturers in Europe in private label wet wipe production, exports 75% of its products. The brand, leading the wet wipe exportation, was once again granted the grand prize in exportation by Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters Association (IKMIB) in the ceremony, organized for the 8th time this year.

Sapro General Manager Murat Gönül, emphasizing that they maintain the leading identity of Sapro in exportation also in terms of environmentally conscious production, underlined that sustainability is one of the priorities of Sapro and stated: Our Sapro brand, ranked in the “Top 500 Industrial Enterprises of Turkey” since 2017 and ‘Champion of Exportation’ under wet wipe category in Turkey, displays a steady growth in not only Turkey but also in regional and global markets. Sapro, exporting to almost 65 countries with our production plant in Bulgaria that commenced operations in 2021, our sales offices in Europe and America, and 9 warehouse investments in 7 countries, taking firm steps toward being the world leader in its field. We are aiming to both acquire new customers and grow the business volume of our existing customers with our innovations offered to the sector and our investments. We launched our plant in Bulgaria in 2021. It has been our “gateway to Europe”.

In 2022, we materialized all our planned investments through the line investment increasing our capacity by 100% in Lotus fabric production, line investment increasing our capacity by 40% in wet wipe production, smart storage investment designed with state-of-the-art technology, and one of the few industrial hygienic water treatment plants in Turkey that offer treatment at top-tier hygiene. Our goal for 2023 and 2024 will be to realize production by fully implementing the capacity increase offered by these investments. On the other hand, the demand for sustainable products and services continues to rise throughout the world and particularly in Europe.

While sustainable products continue to draw attention, most people are willing to pay extra for socially responsible products, which supports the growth of the market. We made a significant investment to develop sustainable, eco-friendly products and launched the Next Generation Viscose Fabric Newipe®, which is a global first. Newipe® is biodegradable and it does not contain plastics. In comparison with other viscose fabrics, Newipe® not only reduces carbon dioxide emissions, but it is also softer than generic viscose and it can biodegrade faster. We are aiming to grow in our target markets in America and Europe with our innovative eco-friendly products prepared with 100% biodegradable eco-friendly fabric, 100% recyclable packaging, and 100% natural ingredients.
